At EVIM, we support and empower individuals in what they need to live a self-determined and dignified life. We create a wide range of opportunities for participation in social life. We are constantly developing our professional profile, thereby giving new impetus to life and work.

The Evangelical Verein für Innere Mission in Nassau (EVIM) is a large diaconal social economy enterprise with over 3,400 employees. Around 400 volunteers support the work of the association, which was founded in 1850. Since 2024, all areas of activity relating to elderly care, education, youth welfare, and participation have been combined in EVIM gGmbH – a sign of growing cooperation and cohesion.

Our shared mission: to support others in special life situations as fellow human beings. We work together across departments to achieve this. That is EVIM.

175 years of tradition and solidarity

We place the individual, with their unique needs and specific life situation, at the center of everything we do. That is why we embrace an attitude of attentiveness, respect, and appreciation. We celebrate diversity, stand up for one another, and act sustainably in our work at around 155 locations in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. EVIM is a non-profit organization and a member of Diakonie Hessen.

On October 24, 2025, the Evangelischer Verein für Innere Mission in Nassau (EVIM) opened a memorial site dedicated to Nazi history with an impressive ceremony on the Geisberg in Wiesbaden. Designed by Wiesbaden artist Nabo Gaß, the memorial commemorates children and young people who were removed from the Protestant reform schools on the Geisberg during the Nazi era and placed in state homes. At least four of them fell victim to Nazi "euthanasia" crimes.

Our history

It was supposed to be a new beginning

With the aim of caring for the "poor, sick, neglected, abandoned, and outcasts" of society, Pastor Ludwig Eibach and 15 other pastors founded the Protestant Association for Inner Mission in the former Duchy of Nassau in 1850.
