The Future of Quality Living: Nationwide Symposium on New Perspectives for Care and Housing
How can housing and care services for older adults be designed to meet future needs? That is the focus of the nationwide symposium “Zukunft Gutes Wohnen” (The Future of Good Living) on September 29, 2026, in Wiesbaden. EVIM is a partner in the event and will serve as the host: The symposium will take place at the Ludwig-Eibach-Haus, a facility operated by EVIM Altenhilfe.
This year’s event will focus on current developments in the areas of renovation, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. Experts from the fields of long-term care, project development, and architecture will present concepts and real-world examples and discuss how living spaces for older adults can be further developed to be livable and sustainable.
Neighborhood management plays a key role in this effort. Peter Kiel, Head of Neighborhood Management and ServiceWohnen at EVIM Altenhilfe, will bring his many years of expertise in this field to the symposium. Together with Torsten Anstädt from humaQ, he will speak on the topic “The Neighborhood as a Place of Holistic Care.” Given the challenges in long-term care, neighborhood-oriented concepts are becoming increasingly important: they integrate housing and care with existing structures in the immediate living environment of older adults.
Other presentations will focus on topics such as sustainable renovation and technical innovations for senior housing. The event will conclude with a discussion on the use of AI and robotics in care architecture and building technology.
