This is important to us

The IJWG is located just outside Darmstadt in a suburb of the city. Its location makes it a peaceful place to stay when you need it. The residential group integrates young people into all areas of daily life and into the social environment, such as school, sports clubs, therapy, etc. The main focus is on helping young people become independent. The aim is to enable them to lead an independent life after moving out of the residential group, possibly with outpatient care. This includes, among other things, an apartment for independent living within the residential group.

Our facility also takes in unaccompanied minor foreigners (UMFs). With these young people, we address specific issues such as language acquisition, support with clarifying their status, and integration into school with the aim of integrating them into German society. We offer them a safe place where they can settle in, come to terms with their past, and develop a positive outlook for the future. Together with the youth welfare office, we work with all young people to develop a support plan for each adolescent, which is drawn up in a participatory manner. The main goal of our work is to promote independence and self-reliance, tailored to the individual needs of each young person.
