This is important to us

The international project in Portugal is aimed at young people aged 10 and above who require intensive educational support within the framework of educational assistance (Sections 27, 34, 35, 35a of SGB VIII). In residential groups and educational facilities in rural areas, the young people find a structured environment that enables them to find peace and develop new perspectives on life.

The core elements of the concept are:

  • Close educational support from qualified professionals
  • Own project school in cooperation with a German comprehensive school to obtain a school leaving certificate
  • Experiential and recreational educational activities to promote social skills
  • Psychological support through regular one-on-one meetings
  • Involvement of parents through regular contact and opportunities to visit

The educational work is based on a systemic, solution-oriented approach. Clear structures, collaborative work, and mandatory participation in activities ensure that young people are closely involved and can learn from the professionals.

The goals of the support are to develop social skills, promote practical everyday abilities, facilitate integration into school and work, and help young people develop realistic prospects for their future. EVIM Youth Welfare remains responsible throughout the entire stay and ensures close support from the supraregional department as well as assistance with any necessary crisis interventions.
