Fools' stronghold Kostheim Senior Center—here, the fifth season is also celebrated in style with a parade.

A heartfelt premiere: Carnival parade at the EVIM senior center in Kostheim

The Kostheim Carnival Association 1923 e.V. (KCV) and the Catholic Men's Association Kastel (KMV) are breaking new ground in this campaign: for the first time, both associations are jointly organizing a carnival session at the EVIM Senior Center in Kostheim – with everything that goes with it: a stage, a carnival committee, and plenty of festive cheer.

Carnival has a long and special tradition at the EVIM Senior Center in Kostheim. For many years, residents – accompanied by staff – have been taking part in the KCV senior citizens' meeting and are an integral part of the Kostheim carnival parade with their own float. Numerous employees are actively involved in the carnival themselves, and for many people in need of care, the fifth season is closely linked to their fondest memories.

The idea for the joint session on January 21, with the carnival starting at 2:11 p.m., came from Björn Saemann (1st chairman of KCV) and Herbert Forstel (honorary member and editorial manager of KCV) and was met with great enthusiasm by all involved. The event is supported by several regional sponsors such as Café Maldaner, Brezel Geppert from Mainz-Kastel, Metro Mainz-Kastel, and KSM-Umweltdienste. (hk, archive photo: evim)
