Season start for farm shop and garden center at Schlockerhof

Gradually, the days are getting longer again, the sun is shining more strongly—spring is just a little bit closer. The Schlockerhof garden center in Hattersheim is tempting customers with the first plants and kitchen herbs of the season.

In January, the garden is still largely dormant, but there are still a few things that can be done. The gardeners at Schlockerhof in Hattersheim are already busy preparing for the start of the season. "Our farm shop will be open again from February 3," says specialist instructor Heike Fischer. The first spring flowers will then be on offer, such as primroses, forget-me-nots, horned violets, and pansies. And for a delicious salad, the first kitchen herbs will also be available, lovingly grown from organic seeds by the gardening team.

"We are well prepared for the new season and look forward to welcoming our customers back to our farm shop and nursery soon," says the inclusive gardening team at Schlockerhof. Their tip for the kitchen garden in February: protect vegetables from late frost, prepare beds for sowing, start growing vegetables, and pre-germinate early potatoes.
