Depending on requirements, the Mainz outpatient assistance program is aimed either at individual children, adolescents, and young adults aged 0-26 or at the entire family system. Young people and families are supported in recognizing and solving their problems and in developing and implementing strategies for leading independent lives. The assistance is tailored to needs and focused on resources and the social environment.

Ambulante Hilfen Mainz sees itself as a flexible support service that aims to offer solutions tailored to individual needs, utilizing the range of outpatient support services available under SGB VIII (Social Security Code VIII). This includes measures such as accompanied contact in accordance with §18 SGB VIII, educational assistance in accordance with §30 SGB VIII, social-educational family assistance in accordance with §31 SGB VIII, integration assistance in accordance with § 35a SGB VIII, and supervised independent living in accordance with § 34 and § 41 SGB VIII.
