Working Despite Mental Illness: 7th Wiesbaden Psychiatry Conference
What role does work play in the lives of people with mental illness? What opportunities for employment and participation are available—and how can working conditions be designed to accommodate mental health needs? Under the theme “Work Despite (or in Spite of) Mental Illness,” the 7th Wiesbaden Psychiatry Day invites you to Wiesbaden City Hall on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Presentations, workshops, and panel discussions will explore the topic from various perspectives. The program will cover, among other things, the importance and impact of work for people with mental health conditions, the budget for employment, and strategies for reducing mental stress in the workplace. The event will conclude with a panel discussion addressing where Wiesbaden stands on the issue of work and mental illness and how services can be further developed.
EVIM Participation at the “Market of Opportunities”
Accompanying the program, a “Market of Opportunities” will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall foyer. Organizations and services from the Community Psychiatric Network, along with other providers, will provide information about their services and invite visitors to speak with them in person. EVIM Teilhabe – Wiesbaden Community Psychiatry is participating as a partner.
Psychiatry Day aims to focus attention on the individual abilities and opportunities of people with mental illnesses and to demonstrate the wide variety of paths to work, employment, and daily structure.

Admission to Mental Health Day is free.
On Wednesday, September 2, at 5:30 p.m., the documentary “Henriette and Guido—An Unusual Love Story” will be screened at the Caligari FilmBühne. Following the screening, there will be an opportunity to speak with director Stella Tinbergen.
