Turnverein 1883 e.V. Hattersheim Donates to Promote Physical Activity and Inclusion
The Turnverein 1883 e.V. Hattersheim (TVH) has once again demonstrated that a commitment to sports and social responsibility go hand in hand. In addition to offering a wide range of sports activities, the club has been actively supporting social projects in the region for years. This year, too, the traditional annual donation has benefited an important organization: The Schlockerhof received a donation check in the amount of 400 euros.
The official handover took place on May 9 as part of this year’s event day at the EVIM facility. The donation will be used specifically to purchase special sports equipment such as motor skills balls, medicine balls with handles, and weighted cuffs.
Sports foster community and a zest for life
“We are very pleased that this will allow us to expand our sports offerings,” said Bernhard Schmauch, deputy director of the EVIM Teilhabe workshop network. The new equipment will be used primarily in vocational training. Under the motto “LEO – Learn – Experience – Orient,” it will also support physical activity programs for people with disabilities. Sports and physical activity play a central role at Schlockerhof: They contribute to maintaining health, boost self-confidence, and enable participation in community life. “We are grateful for the gymnastics club’s great commitment. Sports and the health of our employees are our top priority—they foster a zest for life and a sense of community,” emphasized Bernhard Schmauch.
For the gymnastics club itself, this support is also a matter close to its heart. “As a very satisfied customer, we appreciate not only the service and the quality of the offerings, but also the high priority that fitness and sports hold in the programs,” explained Bernhard Weber, First Chairman of the TVH Board, during the handover in front of the farm store. He noted that it is an important priority for the club to support this valuable work and to further expand the successful collaboration.
With this donation, the Hattersheim Gymnastics Club once again underscores its role as an active part of the local community—not only in sports but also in social interaction. Together, both partners pursue the goal of enabling people with disabilities to lead active and self-determined lives through exercise, community, and targeted support. (hk)
